Terms of Service
The short version. RuntimeClear helps you find Oracle Java installs. It is an educational inventory tool, not legal advice. It comes without warranties. If something goes wrong, the most we owe you is what you paid us. Florida law applies.
1. Who we are
RuntimeClear is operated by Tech Build Dreams LLC, a Florida limited liability company, 2125 Biscayne Blvd, Ste 204 #11842, Miami, FL 33137 (“we”, “us”). Contact: lsramos@techbuilddreams.com, (800) 301-6584. These terms apply to the website at runtimeclear.com, the report tool, and paid plans. By using them you agree to these terms.
2. What RuntimeClear is
- The scanner is open-source software distributed under the MIT License. Your use of the scanner itself is governed by that license, which is included with the source code.
- The report tool is a web page that reads scan files in your browser and classifies findings against a rules file based on Oracle's publicly posted license terms.
- Paid plans unlock the full report (details, migration runbook, cost estimate, printable report) in the browser you use to complete checkout.
3. Not legal advice; not affiliated with Oracle
RuntimeClear provides general, educational information. It is not legal, licensing or financial advice, and using it does not create an attorney-client or advisory relationship. Classifications are automated, may be incomplete or wrong, and cannot account for your contracts with Oracle or with vendors that bundle Java. Findings marked “needs review” are deliberately not classified. Confirm any conclusion with your Oracle licensing contact or counsel before you rely on it.
RuntimeClear is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Oracle. Oracle and Java are registered trademarks of Oracle and/or its affiliates.
4. Your responsibilities
- Run the scanner only on systems and repositories you are authorized to inspect.
- Review commands in the migration runbook before running them, and test changes outside production first.
- Decisions about licensing, purchasing, and changes to your systems are yours.
5. Purchases and access
- Report ($149, one-time): full report for one organization, unlimited hosts.
- MSP ($399, one-time): full reports for up to 10 client organizations, unlimited hosts per organization.
- Prices are in US dollars. Payments are processed by Stripe. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.
- Access is unlocked in the browser used at checkout for 12 months from purchase. If you clear your browser data or need access on another computer, email us your receipt and we will re-issue access within that period.
- Please don't publish or share your checkout link or unlock with people outside the organization(s) you purchased for, and don't resell access to the report tool.
6. Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. See the refund policy.
7. Rules updates
We update the rules file as Oracle's published terms change or as we correct mistakes. Each report shows the rules version and the date the rules were last checked. A report reflects the rules in effect when it was generated.
8. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the website or its payment verification endpoint, probe it for vulnerabilities without our permission, or use it to violate any law. If you believe you have found a security issue, email lsramos@techbuilddreams.com.
9. No warranty
RuntimeClear, including the scanner, the report tool, the rules and any report, is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the scanner will find every Java installation or that any classification is correct.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to RuntimeClear is limited to the amount you paid us for the plan the claim relates to (or $0 if you used only free features). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for license fees, audit costs, settlements, lost profits, downtime or lost data, even if we were told they were possible. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations; in those, our liability is limited to the smallest amount the law allows.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and both parties consent to that venue.
12. Changes
We may update these terms. The effective date at the top will change, and material changes will not apply retroactively to purchases already made.
